Information about Television Commercials and their origins:
A television commercial is also called a television advertisement, TV commercial or advert in the UK, is a span of television programming produced and paid for by an organisation, which conveys a message, typically to market a product or service. Advertising revenue provides a significant portion of the funding for most privately owned television networks. The vast majority of television advertisements today consist of brief advertising spots, ranging in length from a few seconds to several minutes (as well as program-length

Infomercials.
Infomercials are basically a cross between an advertisement and a TV show, based on a single subject. They usually run between 10 and 30 minutes in length and focus on one subject. Popular infomercials are usually about kitchen items or gym equipment, where a demonstration of the product is involved. This is the main advantage of an infomercial. Infomercials have specially designated TV channels that don't run regular programming. Whilst viewing numbers are usually very low, those that do watch usually has a strong interest in the product or service and more likely to purchase it. .

Our commercial services include storyboard and script development, production and post production services, including delivery to the TV Network station.

The Age of Video is upon us!
The rise and rise of video is upon us! Around 100 years (in time!) worth of video is uploaded to YouTube every 10 days. (give or take) This 'information overloaded' age means consumers are putting up the shutters. Engaging and getting their attention now requires a different approach.

People are becoming impatient as well as time poor and are opting for the least path of resistance in life. However small it may be. Watch them as they come down the shopping isles. They will stop and scan the checkouts for the least number or waiting customers. Too many, and they will hit the self serve isle. Look at MasterCards 'PayPass' Who would have believed a couple of years ago, that "a few moments were precious" Apparently they are, judging by the amount of people (us included!) who are using it!

The introduction of digital TV and Cinemas has also opened up a medium to create better and more engaging commercials, as users are now 'double and even triple screening'. Over 74% of people in Australia admit to it! ie; Watching TV and playing around on their Tablets at the same time. What's worse, is what is known as Triple screeners! These are usually the under 25's who also have their Smart phone handy! Television advertising should be aware of this. Most are taking their eyes off the TV screen when the ads come on and looking at stuff on their Tablets! Television advertising should now be created to take advantage of this, with (better audio, as they are still listening!) offers that drive them to their Tablets or Smartphones that we now know they probably have on hand!

Super Bowl Commercials:
These are reported to be the most watched and most expensive TV commercials in the world. Once a year the NFL Championship, broadcasts advertising throughout the game. Companies create commercials just to feature in the game. Viewer ship of the final is huge and commercial spots can cost millions of dollars! One spot in the 2015 final sold for over $4.5 million dollars. Ratings show the Super Bowl attracts over 100 million viewers from all age groups. The ads are now said to attract as much interest as the game itself!

TELEVISION:
Television in Australia first went live in 1929 but main stream TV started in black and white in 1956. It immediately caught on, with colour TV and now digital TV replacing the old analogue system Television in Australia has a 2 tiered system. Commercial channels that show advertisements to pay for the networks and the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) and SBS, both run by the Government. The ABC is commercial free. TV's now come as flat panel screens, ranging from LCD's, LED's and now even Smart TV's, that can hook into the Internet and display content.

COMMERCIALS:
A commercial is usually a paid advertisement and can appear on Television (TV) newspapers, radio stations, magazines and even billboards and Internet websites. A commercial is intended to attract attention and sell a product or service to those looking.

BUNBURY:
Bunbury is located in the South West of Western Australia approximately 160 kilometres from the capital of WA, Perth. PERTH:
Perth is located on the West Coast of Western Australia and is the the capital of WA. Perths population is around 1.5 million people. A lot of new development has taken place in Perth in the last 3 years. The new Elizabeth Quay, The Perth Arena and the New Burswood stadium are all major projects. Tv Commercials
TV Advertisements have been used to promote a wide variety of goods, services and ideas since the dawn of television. How many people watch TV and what shows is, measured by companies such as Nielsen Research and is often used as a gauge for television advertisement placement. Depending how popular a TV show is, affects the price an advertiser will pay whilst it is being shown. The lower the viewing audience numbers, the lower the cost to advertise in it.

The first official, paid television advertisement was said to be during a broadcast in the USA on July 1st, 1941, when the New York TV station, WNBT, showed just before a baseball game.

DUAL SCREENING:
A BIG problem for TV advertisers: In a recent Nielsen survey, 74% of Australians admit to dual screening. ie: Looking at their Tablets whilst the TV ads are on. This dramatically effects the advertisers message, as 7 out of 10 are not looking at the TV when their ads come on! The under 25's are worse.. They are 'Triple screening' (add smartphone as well) TV commercials need to change. They have been serving up the same format for over 50 years.. "This is what we sell or do and here's where we are" The world has moved on and advertising needs to do the same. TV commercials also need to form a part of the big picture and contribute to a company's brand value, not a 'one off fishing trip' We live in a 'connected world' and effective commercials need to be a part of it.

INFORMATION OVERLOAD:
People in general are not coping too well with this vast amount of information and life changes being forced upon them, from Banking to buying. This is creating impatience and people are looking for the least path of resistance in life.. however small. From PayPass to the Supermarket checkout. Watch them as they come down the shopping isle. They will 'scan' the checkouts for the least amount of trolleys waiting to pay and if they decide there is too many, they will take the self service option. Television Advertising Perth.
